It is a double-layer/split-layer cake, meaning one layer is filled with strawberry jam and buttercream filling, & the second layer is filled with crushed pineapple and buttercream filling. It is then iced in buttercream with a comb-textured trim and decorated for Mother’s Day!
Since its founding in 1959 as a small, 24-hour window-service bakery by Mildred and Lloyd Haydel, Haydel’s Bakery has since become a legendary New Orleans-area institution for its wide variety of scratchmade cakes, cookies, pastries, and more family-recipe NOLA-inspired treats – and its king cakes are a Mardi Gras tradition for countless locals. Haydel’s is today run by the third-generation of the Haydel family, and owner David Haydel is the only baker in Louisiana who’s internationally certified as a Craftsman and Master Baker. - Each cake measures 8" and weighs approx. 4 lbs.
- Cakes ship frozen with dry ice.
- Dry ice may dissipate in transit, product may thaw.
- Do not remove dry ice with bare hands.
- Upon arrival, store cake at room temperature or in the refrigerator or freezer.
- Cake can last at room temperature & in the refrigerator for up to 3 days or in the freezer for up to 3 months.
