Laurent Tourondel is one of America’s most renowned chefs, and at Sag Pizza he’s bringing his decades of fine dining experience to picture-perfect Neapolitan-style pizzas. Tourondel has spent 40 years in some of the world’s top kitchens, and he’s perhaps best known for founding the BLT brand, which includes NYC’s legendary BLT Steak and the Michelin-starred BLT Fish. Sag Pizza opened to much fanfare in the heart of the Hamptons’ Sag Harbor Village in 2018, and it’s since become a celebrity hotspot and a must-visit for some of the best pizza on Long Island.
Before opening Sag Pizza, Tourondel spent years working on perfecting his pizza dough, which bakes up chewy, slightly crunchy on the bottom, and bubbly with little bits of flavorful char from the wood-burning oven. And he’s put the same amount of care into the toppings, which include rich San Marzano tomato sauce, real mozzarella and caciocavallo cheeses, and housemade pork sausage.
