To Cook Souplings
- Cook from frozen.
- Heat up 1 tablespoons of canola oil (or any cooking oil) in an 8-inch size nonstick pan over medium heat.
- When the pan is hot, line up 8 souplings flat side down in the pan.
- Pan sear the souplings for 1 minute, till the bottom of the souplings start to sizzle and turning golden.
- Add ⅓ cup water. When the water starts to sizzle, forming small bubbles, drop the heat to medium low and cover the pan with a lid.
- Set a timer and cook for 6 minutes then remove the lid. The top of the souplings will be cooked from the steam.
- Add an additional ½ tablespoon of cooking oil in the pan, increase the heat to medium and allow the bottom of the souplings to crisp up. This will take about 1 ½ to 2 minutes. When they are golden on the bottom, the souplings are done.
- Remove and plate the souplings with a spatula. Allow them to cool for a few minutes as they are piping hot.
- Enjoy!
