Husband and wife Robb Duncan and Violetta Edelman opened Dolcezza Gelato in Washington, D.C.’s Georgetown neighborhood in 2004. The Dolcezza team produces small batches of hand-made gelato every morning using the best available ingredients, most grown by local farmers, like local fruits, herbs, nuts, cheese, milk, and cream. They squeeze the citrus one by one, melt the chocolate, infuse the herbs, grind the nuts. and roast the spices, all with their own hands, every step of the way.

Flavors Include
- Spiced Cake Batter – Toss the box cake mixes and give ol’ betty crock the day off — we’ve taken over baking duties with this homage to our favorite holiday cake. spiced cake batter gelato with swirls of tangy cream cheese icing covered in peppery ginger snaps.
- Sweet Potato Pecan Praline – We roast the sweet potatoes, pureed them, and blended them with our cream base. As the gelato is drawn from the batch freezer we fold in our homemade pecan praline. This flavor ushers in the winter for us. It should taste like a sweet potato pie.
- Mascarpone & Fig – Indulgent mascarpone gelato with gobs of our homemade fig jam made from locally-sourced figs. celebrate prosperity and abundance by stuffing your face with this fall twist of our most popular flavor.
- Maple Syrup & Walnut Pesto – Maple syrup gelato made with Maryland-sourced maple syrup rolled in a cinnamon-spiced maple walnut crumble.
