What’s so special about Maryland blue crabs? It has to do with the unique weather and the type of estuary in the Chesapeake Bay. To sustain them through the winter, large blue crabs have to build up extra fat stores which give them that sweet, buttery flavor you won’t find in other types of crabs or in blue crabs from other waters. Founded in 1985 by brothers Allen and Bijan Manesh, Cameron’s Seafood in Rockville, Maryland, sells 75,000 bushels of crab annually.
