Mike Vande Walle and his high school sweetheart, Mary, always dreamed of owning their own bakery. After working at his parent's’ bakery since high school, Mike took the opportunity to start his own just outside Green Bay, Wisconsin--deep in the heart of Packers territory. As a nod to his state’s elected Official Pastry, Mike developed an award winning kringle recipe using traditional methods and high quality European butter. In keeping with Danish traditions, Uncle Mike’s forms the kringles into a pretzel shape and stuffs each with yummy fillings that are all made in the bakery and range from traditional (almond and cherry) to extreme (sea salt caramel pecan and turtle).
And ’cause it’s Wisconsin, there’s a cheese filled kringle, too.
