Singh’s Roti Shop
New York's Legendary Caribbean Destination Since 1990
Singh’s Roti Shop opened in 1990 in Richmond Hill, the Queens neighborhood known as the center of New York City’s West Indian community, and it proved so popular that it had to move into a larger space shortly after opening in order to accommodate the crowds. Owners Seema, Shivani, and their parents take pride in their roti and lineup of classic Trinidadian foods, all based on beloved family recipes that haven’t changed in generations.
A cornerstone of the neighborhood, Singh’s has become renowned for its traditional West Indian dishes, which draw influence from Africa, Asia, and beyond. Meats are marinated and slow-simmered in fragrant sauces until tender, and vegan dishes like mango curry, spinach, and pumpkin are full of flavor. When scooped up with their signature homemade roti bread and finished with a homemade coconut or currant roll, it’s no wonder that Singh’s has become the local legend that it is. This is a true taste of Trinidad, and now it’s shipping nationwide!
