Home of The Pie That Won Obama's Heart
While it was a job as art director of the Washington Post that brought Brian Noyes to Washington D.C. in 1984, it was the small farm he purchased 50 miles outside the nation's capital that brought out his true calling. Always looking for a creative outlet, Noyes began making jams, breads, pies and pastries and delivering them to local country stores in his red 1954 Ford farm truck each week. One Saturday Brian pulled up to a store to make his weekly delivery to discover that the parking lot was already full with customers waiting on him...30 minutes before the doors even opened. It was at this point that he realized he was on to something special. As word of Red Truck spread nationwide through features in outlets like the New York Times, a photo and news story of President Obama declaring his love of their pies was what solidified them as one of the nation's top food purveyors.
