This package serves 2-3 people and includes
- Cajun Seafood Gumbo (2.3 lbs.)
- Boiled Shrimp Meat (12 oz.)
- Crab Meat (8 oz.)
- White Rice (7 oz.)
- Choose to add on Garlic Bread (8 oz.)
- Garlic Bread serves 4 people
- Gumbo ships with ice packs, may thaw in transit.
- Store in refrigerator for up to 3 days, or the freezer for up to 1 month.
- Store garlic bread immediately in the freezer for up to 3 months, once thawed place in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.
To Serve
Gumbo
- Thaw gumbo completely under refrigeration.
- Begin white rice cooking instructions.
- Place gumbo in a saucepot.
- Over medium-high heat, bring to a simmer for 5 to 7 minutes.
- Remove gumbo from heat and add shrimp meat & crab meat.
- Return gumbo to heat and bring back to a simmer for 4 to 5 minutes or until seafood is just heated through, simmering gumbo too long will result in seafood being overcooked.
- Serve with white rice and garnish with sliced green onions (not included).
White Rice
- In a saucepan, bring two cups of water to a boil and stir in the rice package. Add 1 tbsp butter and 1 tsp of salt, if desired.
- Cover saucepan with a lid. Reduce heat and simmer for 20 minutes or until all water is absorbed.
- Remove from heat and let sit, covered, for 10 minutes.
Garlic Bread – Add On
- If frozen, thaw overnight in the refrigerator.
- Preheat oven to 375° F.
- Loosen foil around garlic bread loaf but do not completely unwrap.
- Place foil-wrapped loaf in a preheated 375° F oven and bake for 10-12 minutes.
- After 10-12 minutes, carefully remove the loaf from the oven and unwrap the foil. Garlic bread should be hot, cheese melted, and golden brown.
- For more toasted and well-done, place back into the oven with foil, but uncovered, for an additional 2 to 3 minutes.
