Get ready for Easter fun with Mini Melanie’s newest Sugar Cookie Decorating Kit. Decorate eight sugar cookies with five colorful jars of royal icing. Use their designs as inspiration for the Easter and spring-themed cookie shapes included.

Brooklyn bakery Mini Melanie was founded in 2015 by sisters Diana Moss and Melanie Moss, a former pastry chef at New York’s Babbo and Blue Hill at Stone Barns. Mini Melanie is a one stop shop for delicious and innovative desserts that put a fun and modern twist on classic treats. In February 2018, Melanie won first place in an all-dessert, chocolate-themed episode of Food Network’s “Chopped.”

  • Each cookie weighs approx. 2 oz and measures approx. 3"

Items You Will Need

  • Scissors
  • 1 Mug or Glass
  • The Decorating Kit ships without coolant and arrives ready-to-enjoy
  • Let the cookies dry overnight before wrapping in cellophane or plastic wrap.
  • The cookies will stay fresh at room temperature, wrapped, for up to two days, after which the cookies will start to dry out.
  • To store the icing bags, wrap in plastic wrap once opened and refrigerate for up to 3 days.

Decorating Guidelines

Let’s decorate! Let’s flood the cookies! It’s just like filling in a coloring book!

  • Place one of the piping bags inside a mug. Fold over the top of the bag over the side of the mug, to help you get the icing in.
  • Scoop out the contents of the icing jar into the bag, using one of the mini spoons provided.
  • Push/squeeze the icing to the bottom of the piping bag and tie a knot at the top of the icing bag.
  • Repeat for all four icing colors.

For the Chick Cookie:

  • Make a small snip with scissors at the tip of the yellow royal icing bag and orange icing bag.
  • Ice the beak orange, then outline and fill chick with yellow icing.
  • Finish with the orange feet and black eye if desired.
  • Enjoy!

For the Bunny Cookie:

  • Using orange icing, outline the border of the bunny cookie.
  • Set aside to dry for 5 minutes.
  • Squeeze the piping bag in tiny circular motions to extend the icing to the borders of the cookie.
  • Finish with a white tail if desired.
  • Enjoy!

For the Flower Cookie:

  • Using white icing, outline the border of the flower cookie and make lines in the middle that connect the top and bottom of the flower, making a section like the above.
  • Set aside to dry for 5 minutes.
  • Fill the middle in with white icing.
  • Set it aside for 5 minutes.
  • Then fill in the sides with white icing too, and add sprinkles if desired.
  • Enjoy!

For the Egg Cookie:

  • Using pink icing, outline the border of the egg cookie.
  • Set aside to dry for 5 minutes.
  • Squeeze the piping bag in tiny circular motions to extend the icing to the borders of the cookie.
  • Add fun easter details on top in all colors.
  • Enjoy!

If you don’t eat your cookies immediately, store them at room temperature. The icing hardens fully overnight
