Widely regarded as one of the very best bakeries in America, Boston’s iconic Flour Bakery + Cafe is the creation of legendary pastry chef Joanne Chang. Chang spent years honing her craft at some of the country’s top restaurants before opening Flour in Boston’s South End with her husband Christopher Myers in 2000. Her array of wildly delicious sticky buns, cinnamon rolls, cookies, muffins, cakes, pies, and more quickly attracted a loyal following, and the awards and accolades soon began to roll in. Chang was awarded the James Beard Award for Outstanding Baker in 2016, and today there are nine Flour Bakery + Cafe locations across Boston and Cambridge.

This package serves 8 people and includes everything you need to decorate 8 Melting Snowman Cookies

  • 8 Sugar Cookies (10 oz. Total)
  • 1 Black Royal Icing (2 oz.)
  • 1 Blue Royal Icing (2 oz.)
  • 1 Orange Royal Icing (2 oz.)
  • 1 White Royal Icing (3 oz.)
  • 10 Large Marshmallows
  • 3 Mini Piping Bags
  • 1 Spatula
  • Package arrives ready to enjoy!
  • Cookies may be stored in an airtight container for up to 4 days at room temperature.

To Serve

  • Place the cookies on a flat surface.
  • Using the back of a knife or spoon or a small offset spatula spread each cookie with a circle of the white royal icing. It’s okay if the circle doesn’t completely cover the whole cookie and in fact it looks better if it is slightly uneven and some drips off the side. (This is the melting snow of your snowman!).
  • Immediately place a marshmallow on the top half of each cookie- this is the snowman head. The marshmallow will adhere to the icing and when it dries it will stick to the icing.
  • Snip the tip of the piping bag of black, blue, and orange icing.
  • Use the blue icing to pipe a scarf to wrap around the marshmallow head.
  • Use the black icing to draw two dot eyes on the marshmallow, stick arms and buttons on the cookie base.
  • Use the orange icing to make a small “carrot nose” on the marshmallow.
  • Let the icing dry completely 6 to 8 hours or overnight before serving.
