Famous Tomato Pie since 1924

Unlike, say, Buffalo wings, tomato pie is one of those regional specialties that hasn’t gained much recognition outside of its ancestral homeland; in this case, Eastern Pennsylvania. But don’t call it pizza: tomato pie may resemble your standard Sicilian pie, but it differs in a few key ways: if there's any cheese it’s a sprinkling of Romano or Parmesan, it’s found at Italian bakeries instead of pizza joints, and it’s served at room temperature.

Corropolese Italian Bakery & Deli has been crafting a wide variety of breads, rolls, cakes, pastries and tomato pies since way back in 1924, and it’s still family-run all these years later. Their signature tomato pie is light, airy and crisp, topped with aged Romano and a famous sweet homemade red sauce. It’s a true artisan-made regional delicacy, and now there’s no need to travel to experience it.
