Roscón de Reyes
The Spanish didn’t used to celebrate a visit from Santa Claus; instead, they’d await the arrival of three magic kings on the night of January 5th to January 6th, who would leave gifts for the children. On the morning of January 6th, the gifts would be opened and Roscón de Reyes would be eaten for breakfast! Chef José’s Roscón de Reyes is flavored with orange blossom, caramelized cherries, oranges, melon, and almonds.
Each Roscón de Reyes has three “Reyes” (kings) figurines baked inside. It’s good luck to find one, but please enjoy carefully as they are inedible

Since emigrating to America at age 21, Andrés has opened a stunning array of more than 30 restaurants, from traditional tapas joints (Jaleo) to a sprawling Spanish food hall (NYC’s Mercado Little Spain) to a two Michelin Star tasting counter (DC’s minibar by José Andrés).
