To Serve

Brisket

What You’ll Need:

  • 2 tbsp. Kosher Salt
  • 2 tbsp. Black Pepper
  • 1 tbsp. Garlic Powder
  • 1 tbsp. Onion Powder
  • 1 tbsp. Smoked Paprika
  • 1 tsp. Cayenne Pepper (Optional)
  • 2 tbsp. Worcestershire Sauce
  • 1/4 cup Yellow Mustard Or Olive Oil (Binder)
  • 1-2 cups Beef Broth Or Water
  • 2 tbsp. Apple Cider Vinegar (Optional, For Moisture)

Preparation and Cooking Instructions

  • Preheat the Oven to 275°F (135°C). Low and slow is key for a tender brisket.
  • Trim excess fat, leaving about 1/4 inch for flavor and moisture.
  • Pat the brisket dry with paper towels.
  • Rub with Worcestershire sauce, then coat evenly with mustard or olive oil.
  • Mix salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, and cayenne.
  • Rub the spice mix generously over the entire brisket.
  • Place the brisket fat side up in a large roasting pan or a baking dish with a rack.
  • Pour beef broth and apple cider vinegar into the pan to keep it moist.
  • Cover the pan tightly with foil to trap steam and keep the brisket juicy.
  • Cook for 4-5 hours (roughly 1 hour per pound) until the internal temperature reaches 190-205°F (88-96°C).
  • Remove from the oven and let it rest at least 30-60 minutes under a loose foil tent. This helps retain juices.
  • Cut against the grain into thin slices for tenderness.
  • Serve with your favorite barbecue sauce, au jus, or enjoy as-is!

Tips for the Best Oven-Brisket

  • For extra bark (crust), uncover the brisket for the last 30 minutes and increase the oven to 325°F (163°C).
  • If time allows, let the brisket sit seasoned overnight in the fridge for deeper flavor.
  • Save the pan drippings for a delicious sauce or gravy.
  • Enjoy your juicy, oven-baked brisket!
