Nashville’s Legendary Sky-High Biscuits

What started in 2012 with a bag of flour and an Airstream food truck is today one of America’s most beloved family-owned restaurants, with lines of biscuit lovers snaking out the door and around the corner on a daily basis. Founded by the husband-and-wife duo of Karl and Sarah Worley (both Johnson & Wales culinary school grads) with just three items on the menu, Biscuit Love opened its first brick-and-mortar location in Nashville’s The Gulch neighborhood in 2015, and that year it was named one of America’s 50 Best New Restaurants by Bon Appétit. Four more locations followed, with more in the works.

One bite of these biscuits and you’ll understand why they’ve become a thing of cultish devotion. They’re made from scratch with just seven ingredients – flour, buttermilk, butter, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and lots of love – and they bake up tall, with more flaky layers than you can count. When topped with jam or creamy sausage gravy, these biscuits are sheer perfection. And don’t even get us started on the cinnamon rolls, which are made with the same dough! These biscuits have taken the South by storm, and now they’re shipping nationwide!
