Bern's Steak House
“One of the World’s Best Steakhouses” - Forbes
Bern’s Steak House is more than just one of the world’s most renowned and legendary steak houses: It’s also a family tradition. Back in 1956, Bern and Gert Laxer opened a 40-seat restaurant in a Tampa strip mall. It proved to be so successful that they expanded into adjoining shops, and over the years Bern’s grew to encompass eight dining rooms with 350 seats – as well as the legendary Dessert Room, where guests indulge in their choice of 45 desserts. In the meantime, Bern’s became Tampa’s most famous restaurant, with countless accolades and the reservation book filling up months in advance.
Bern passed away in 2002 and Gert in 2020, and today their legacy of incredible steaks and warm hospitality is carried on by their son, David. Bern’s steaks are USDA Prime, dry-aged in-house for 5-8 weeks, and hand-cut to order. Bern’s is a true culinary landmark, named the best steak house in America by several outlets and winning James Beard Awards and the Wine Spectator Grand Award of Excellence for its world-class wine list, the world’s largest. And now, for the first time, the Bern’s Steak House experience is shipping nationwide!
