The Lollino family has been a Chicagoland staple since 1968, when they first started dishing up authentic Italian foods, blending and roasting coffee, and creating world-class frozen desserts, and in 1990 husband and wife Angelo and Giovanna Lollino opened their Elmwood Park cafe, Massa Cafe Italiano. It’s a great place for a cup of fresh-roasted espresso and a scoop of housemade gelato, but it’s their Sicilian bakery-style pizza that’s really put it on the map.
This pizza is homemade fresh daily using a proprietary dough recipe, and it’s thick and fluffy, with a crispy bottom and just the right amount of well-balanced toppings. It became such a hit that Lollino began freezing them for loyal customers, and now they’re shipping them nationwide. Them: smart. You: lucky.
