From a third-generation New York Deli owner, Kenny & Ziggy’s is not only the top deli in Texas but also one of the best delis in America. In the early 1900s, Max Gruber (Ziggy’s grandfather) left Budapest, Hungary, on a bicycle. He pedaled his way across Europe to the Atlantic coast and eventually sailed for the United States, ending up on New York’s Lower East Side. In 1927, he and his brothers-in-law Morris and Izzy Rappaport opened the first Jewish deli on Broadway! Generations later, Houston businessman Lenny Friedman convinced Ziggy Gruber, who ran successful Jewish delis in New York and Los Angeles, that Houston needed an authentic deli of its own. The rest is delicious history.

  • Choose Between “Regular” & “First Cut”

Corned Beef Options Options Include

  • Regular – Shoulder cut of brisket. Juicier cut of meat for a true brisket experience.
  • First Cut – A leaner cut as it does not include the top part of the brisket. It is not as juicy as the regular cut.

While people have their preferences, we recommend ordering the Regular Cut, for the optimal Pastrami experience.

  • Ships fresh with ice packs, may thaw in transit
  • Upon arrival, store the corned beef brisket in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
  • Corned Beef Brisket may be stored in the freezer for up to 3 months.
  • Defrost brisket in the refrigerator overnight before serving.

To Serve

Boil Method

  • If frozen, allow the meat to defrost in the refrigerator overnight before serving.
  • Boil a pot of water on the stove.
  • Place meat in a colander and place it inside the pot. The meat should not touch the water.
  • Place a lid over the top of the colander and steam the meat on the stove for 1 minute or until hot.
  • Assemble, serve and enjoy!

Microwave Method

  • If frozen, allow the meat to defrost in the refrigerator overnight before serving.
  • Take a plate and two paper towels, wet the paper towels and wring it out until damp.
  • Place the meat flat between the two damp paper towels and wrap with plastic wrap, and microwave for 25 – 40 seconds. Do the lowest time to avoid frying the meat.
  • Assemble, serve and enjoy!
